This work is based on the manual repetition of the same fragment of a face, painted multiple times across a continuous surface. Repetition is not used as decoration, but as a field of visual pressure, where the image stops functioning as a single portrait and becomes a serial presence. Each module appears similar to the others, yet it is never exactly the same: it is the result of a gesture that is repeated, shifted, and slightly transformed. Within this minimal difference, repetition does not stabilize the image, but puts it under tension. The face does not multiply to affirm itself as an icon, but to reveal its instability. The more it returns, the more it loses a fixed definition and turns into structure, rhythm, memory, and accumulation.<\/p>\n

This research unfolds within a reflection on seriality and variation that, starting from Warhol, has taken different forms in the work of artists such as Hans-Peter Feldmann, Allan McCollum, and Elaine Sturtevant, for whom the meaning of the image does not lie in the uniqueness of a single element, but in the way it shifts through repetition. In this work, the same image is not simply reproduced, but put to the test: it wears out, reconstructs itself, fragments, and continues to redefine itself through the viewer\u2019s gaze. This piece is part of a broader research on the face as an unstable structure, developed through repetition, variation of modules, density, and fragmentation.<\/p>\n<\/div>
